Continental Square
Historic downtown crossing. The colonial courthouse that once sat in the middle was only 45 × 45 feet. This is an intersection, not an empty civic deck.
Roller rink rental in York, PA
A portable roller rink rental in York sits on a Continental Square panel, a Central Market block, or a festival pad the city is not already icing. The square is a historic crossing — the courthouse that once sat in its middle was 45 × 45 feet — not an empty civic rectangle.
Planning a portable rink in York, PA
Plan the event
Start a York roller rink rental quote with the square, the market block, or a lot the festival is not using. The whole crossing is not the sheet.
Local pad and venue notes
Continental Square is compact and already a crossing. Central Market has its own Saturday clock. Seasonal festival ice, when the city or a promoter already installs it, is occupied. A portable quote is a different panel or an indoor room.
What guests experience
York parties want a roller rink that feels like the square. A portable roller rink rental can sit on one measured Continental Square panel, on a Central Market block after tents, or on a festival pad the city is not already using. Deck the Y’alls and other seasonal ice, when installed, are occupied programs — not vacant pads. We review compact courtyard and civic sheets downtown. Larger ice is a marked lot. Send the week and whether a festival sheet is already in. We do not treat the historic crossing as an empty 40 × 80 ft field.
Truck and load-in access
The square needs a measured panel after walks stay open. Market blocks need Saturday hours. Festival pads need confirmation they are empty.
Calendar and weather
Holiday square weekends and market Saturdays stack. If a seasonal festival sheet is already up, send a different pad or a different week.
One Continental Square panel, not the whole crossing
York is a historic crossing
A portable roller rink rental in York is a measured square panel, a market block, or a festival pad that is actually empty. The courthouse that once sat in the square was 45 × 45 feet. That is the scale.

Central Market block
1888 market house on nearly a city block, plus First Friday spill. Furniture and vendor flow before ice.
Deck the Y’alls / seasonal festival ice
Downtown has hosted an on-field seasonal rink during holiday light festivals. Existing event ice when they run it, not a vacant plant.
Sizes that fit York pads
Rink sizes we can review here Continental Square is intersection-scale. Central Market furniture eats the block. Most honest first asks stop at a courtyard or a leftover festival panel. We do not replace York Ice Arena. We do not bid Deck the Y’alls ice when that production is up. We do not quote a permanent rink as a portable product. Send the pad size and event dates for a York quote — use Get a Quote above or the form at the bottom of this page.
Courtyard - 20 × 40 ft
Hotel courtyards and indoor halls. About 12–20 skaters. Matches downtown block scale better than a civic lot.
Lawn panel - 30 × 50 ft
One leftover festival panel after vendors. About 25–40 skaters.
Civic - 40 × 60 ft
A marked lot off the square — not Continental Square itself.

How it works
How a York quote is planned
1
Measure the usable footprint
In York we review 20 × 40 ft, 30 × 50 ft, and 40 × 60 ft. Send the usable rectangle off Continental Square, not the intersection. We do not replace York Ice Arena. We do not quote a permanent rink as a portable product.
2
Choose indoor, outdoor, or covered
Outdoor square hours are a short holiday window. Indoor rooms keep a party running through a thaw.
3
Review what happens after submission
York requests are checked for whether a festival sheet is already in and whether the square panel is measured. Then the package is reviewed.

Answers for a portable rink request on a measured event pad.
Can I rent a portable roller rink in York for an event?
Yes. York roller rink rental requests are reviewed from the actual pad, date, and about how many people will skate. Use the quote button on this page.
Can the whole square take a portable roller rink?
No. One measured panel can be reviewed. The historic crossing still has to function as a crossing.
How much space do I need for a roller rink rental in York?
A 20 × 40 ft courtyard fits a hotel or indoor room (about 12–20 skaters). Most civic pads are 40 × 60 ft. A larger floor needs a marked lot. We do not quote a permanent rink as a portable product.
Should a January York rink be indoors?
Outdoor works for a short holiday window with a rain plan and a weather plan. All-day public hours belong indoors or under cover.
How many people can skate at once?
A courtyard sheet holds about 12–20. A civic 40 × 60 ft sheet holds about 40–65. Tell us whether skating is the headliner or one station at a larger party.
