The Green

Planning a portable rink in New Castle, DE
Plan the event
A New Castle quote needs the park or hall address. Guests can come from Wilmington in ten minutes. The truck still cannot treat cobblestone as a dock.
Local pad and venue notes
Historic New Castle streets are short. Battery Park runs along the river and has lawn and walk space, but wind and park rules still apply. The Trustees of the New Castle Common steward hundreds of acres of public land — that is not one empty rink. Measure the rectangle you actually control.
What guests experience
New Castle, Delaware is a Battery Park panel conversation, not “the Green is the truck pad.” Historic last-turn and a marked lot are the review.
Truck and load-in access
The Green is not the dock. Battery Park or a hall with a real door.
Calendar and weather
Historic-district event weeks need extra lead time.
Season note
Outdoor park asks are typical from late November. Indoor halls hold public hours when the historic street is already in heritage programming.
The Green is not the load-in
Historic New Castle
New Castle quotes fail when the form only says the historic district. A Battery Park lawn, a side lot, and an indoor hall are the pads a truck can actually reach.

Sizes that fit New Castle, Delaware pads
Rink sizes we can review here The Green is a historic common. Battery Park is where a lawn panel can exist. Those are not the same pad, and this is not New Castle, Pennsylvania. Do not treat the Green as a 40 × 80 ft sheet. 30 × 60 ft is reviewed only on a Battery Park panel with a real truck path. Send the pad size and event dates for a New Castle quote — use Get a Quote above or the form at the bottom of this page.
Courtyard - 20 × 40 ft
Hotel courtyards, banquet halls, and indoor civic rooms. About 12–20 skaters once boards and a walk path are in.
Festival - 30 × 60 ft
The usual civic or campus pad. About 30–50 skaters if the walkway around the boards is honest.

How it works
How a New Castle quote is planned
1
Measure the usable footprint
In New Castle we review 20 × 40 ft and 30 × 60 ft on a Battery Park lawn panel. We do not treat the Green as a 40 × 80 ft sheet.
2
Choose indoor, outdoor, or covered
Battery Park is the usual outdoor ask. Indoor halls are the backup when the last historic street is too tight.
3
Review what happens after submission
The review checks Green versus Battery Park first. You may be asked for the last legal truck stop.
Rink requests that fit New Castle
New Castle, Delaware
Battery Park winter events
Battery Park winter events need a measured pad, honest load-in, and a guest count that fits the boards — not acreage under the New Castle, DE name alone.
Historic-town activations on a named lot
Historic-town activations on a named lot work when the pad is measured, brand load-in is timed, and guest flow around the boards is planned for the New Castle, DE address you name.
Indoor halls when the Green cannot take a truck
Indoor halls when the Green cannot take a truck keep a party running through wind, thaw, or a crowded outdoor calendar. Send ceiling height, floor protection, dock or freight limits, and how guests reach the room in New Castle.
School and civic programs
School and civic programs need who controls the lawn after hours, turf or floor protection, and whether guests are students, staff, or the public — not a New Castle, DE pin alone.

Preferred date or date range and daily skating hours
